C4i And Hardcash Team In Development Deal

Leading developer C4i, part of the Digital Rights Group, and BAFTA and Emmy award-winning production company Hardcash Productions have signed a one-year development deal, Christina Wiloughby, Managing Director at C4i, has announced.
The deal will see C4i working closely with Hardcash Productions, the UK based independent set up by David Henshaw in 1992, to develop internationally appealing projects from a specifically allocated fund. Programmes produced as part of this deal with be distributed worldwide by C4i.
Niki Page, Acquisitions Manager at C4i, who brokered the deal commented: "This is a landmark deal for C4i, underlining our commitment to bringing the best in topical and thought-provoking current affairs programming to a worldwide audience. In combining our experience of the international marketplace with Hardcash Productions world-renowned expertise in producing exemplary and relevant programming, we are confident that this joint venture will result in huge successes for both companies."
David Henshaw, Managing Director at Hardcash Productions, said: "For a company our size, it's a huge advantage to be working with a distributor with such a strong network of contacts right across the broadcasting world. In an increasingly tough and fragmented market, C4i have shown a sure touch in selling our films to both the big players and the small."
Hardcash Productions and C4i already have a hugely successful relationship, having worked together on a number of projects in recent years - penetrating some of the most hostile territories in the world to create first-class documentary films.
These include: 'Iraq: The Lost Generation') part of UK broadcaster Channel 4's recent Iraq season), an investigation into the biggest and most catastrophic refugee crisis in the Middle East since the Palestinian diaspora of 1948; 'Child Trafficking', which sees Liviu Tipurita returning to his homeland of Romania to explore reports of a sudden rise in the trafficking of children and 'Burma: Inside The Worst Place In The World', going undercover inside Burma and on a highly dangerous journey to witness new levels of violence by a brutal military dictatorship against its own people.
C4i also distributes its BAFTA and Emmy award-winning 'Beneath The Veil', following Saira Shah as she risks her life going undercover in Afghanistan to paint a shocking and disturbing picture of Islamic fundamentalism.
