Scandinavia Dips Into C4i Catalogue

Leading distributor C4i, part of the Digital Rights Group, has concluded a raft of deals following its attendance at MIPCOM, which will see more than 35 hours of comedy, drama and documentary programming heading to broadcasters in Scandinavia, it has been announced.
The deals were concluded by the company's new Senior Sales and Commercial Executive Joel Atley, recently appointed to manage sales to the region.
Atley commented: "These deals encompass a range of genres and include both new titles and titles from our extensive back catalogue. I am delighted that iconic titles such as 'Shameless' and 'Peep Show' continue to have such strong appeal to Scandinavian audiences and that 'White Teeth' and 'The Inbetweeners' will soon be available."
Deals include a package of contemporary comedy dramas acquired by TV4 Sweden, including 'The Inbetweeners', following the misadventures of four surburban teenagers; the latest series of the innovative and award-winning comedy 'Peep Show' starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb and the latest series of Paul Abbott's multi award-winning drama 'Shameless' from Company Pictures, continuing to chart the adventures of the wickedly unpredictable Gallagher family.
Also going to TV4 are a range of documentaries, including '9/11 Faker', a documentary from Films of Record, revealing the story of one of the world's most audacious hoaxes; factual special 'Ninety Naps a Day' following four British narcoleptics on a life-changing journey to the US and 'The Worlds... and me'.
Viasat TV8 in Sweden has signed up for 'White Teeth', the sparkling, epic comedy adapted from the award-winning novel by Zadie Smith and starring James McAvoy and Naomie Harris.
Set in London, the melting pot of modern Britain, this series from Company Pictures tells the story of three families as their lives, present and past intertwine comically and explosively.
'Millionaire's Mission', a factual series from Silver River Productions is also set for broadcast on Viasat, following eight wealthy business leaders on a once-in-a-lifetime mission for leading charity World Vision.
Finally, YLE Finland has acquired series two of 'The Choir', an factual title which follows Choirmaster Gareth Malone as he draws on every ounce of his passion and commitment to bring singing back to schools (Twenty Twenty Television) and 'Ochberg's Orphans', a fascinating documentary from Oscar-winning director Jon Blair revealing the story of Issac Ochberg, a South African businessman of Russian extraction, who undertook a dangerous mission to rescue Jewish orphans in the 1920s.
