Myvideorights.com Signs Deal With Hat Trick Productions

Myvideorights.com has signed a one-year deal to distribute and monetise short-form content from one of the UK's leading independent TV producers, Hat Trick Productions.
Hat Trick has produced many of the most popular comedies to come out of the UK in the past twenty years, making it one of the major success stories of the UK broadcast industry. Titles covered by the deal included award-winning programmes such as Father Ted, Armstrong and Miller and Fonejacker.
Paul Cohen, Director of Legal and Commercial Affairs at Hat Trick Productions, said: "Controlling and monetising short-form content online is a big challenge for producers and working with MVR will help us move forward in both areas."
Myvideorights.com distributes content to publishing platforms who are increasingly demanding safe, professionally-produced video to attract advertisers. The multiplatform agreement with Hat Trick covers online, mobile and IPTV and will see myvideorights.com utilise various digital fingerprinting tools to monitor the content across the web and manage their rights. As an additional benefit, not only does digital fingerprinting allow myvideorights.com to prevent content from being distributed unauthorised, but it also enables the profiling of online audiences based on real usage.
Ashley Mackenzie, CEO of myvideorights.com, said: "Comedy is the most popular online video content genre on the web and, in particular, on YouTube today, with some 70% of people watching comedy clips online.
"As MVR grows a leading position in this genre, we are delighted to have attracted a company of the calibre of Hat Trick Productions. It is another clear indication that the business is maturing rapidly."
