'Pilgrim' To Be Released Nationwide

The award wining Irish animated short film Pilgrim will be released in cinemas nationwide by Buena Vista International (Ireland) later in November and will play in front of the US blockbuster feature film 'Santa Clause 3 - The Escape Clause'.
Directed by Matthew Darragh, Pilgrim scooped the award for Best Director at the Kerry Film Festival in October. Commenting on the film, the renowned UK directed Mike Leigh (Vera Drake) who adjudicated the award said Pilgrim was “..a brilliant and original little film. Matthew Darragh is in complete control of the medium. He has followed through his idea with wit, style, a sure grasp of rhythm, timing and characterisation, and great spatial imagination. The result is both hilarious and moving.”
Pilgrim also picked up the 2nd place award for Best Animation Film at the Kerry Film Festival and a Special Recommendation at the Galway Film Fleadh in July. The film was produced by Monster Animation and commissioned by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board as part of the Short Shorts film scheme. Pilgrim tells a tale about a stranger in an unknown land braving many dangers as he strives to fulfill his function.
Santa Clause 3 - The Escape Clause stars Tim Allen, Michael Short and Elizabeth Mitchell and is directed by Michael Lembeck. Santa Claus 3 and Pilgrim will be released in cinemas on November.
