Ranelagh Arts Festival Film Committee Seek Short Film Entries

The Film Committee of the Ranelagh Arts Festival is looking to encourage entries for its inaugural forthcoming short film festival, "minicinefest".
A panel of distinguished judges including:
  • Michael Dwyer, Ireland's foremost film critic and director of the Dublin International Film Festival;
  • Philip King, Managing director of one of Ireland's leading independent production companies, Hummingbird Productions, an established Irish director/producer and a member of the Arts Council;
  • Daniel O'Hara, Irish director, Yu Ming is Ainm Dom (2003) and Fluent Dysphasia (2004), and;
  • Redmond Morris, esteemed Irish producer of such films as The Wind That Shakes the Barley (2006), Ask the Dust (2006), The Butcher Boy(1997), and Interview with the Vampire (1994.)
The panel will select the winning shorts. These shorts will be screened in the cinemobile during the Ranelagh Arts Festival, which runs from 28th September to 1st October 2006.
A spokesperson for the Film Committee described the minicinefest as a "fantastic opportunity for budding filmmakers to see their short films on the big screen and to have their work viewed by reputable figures in the Irish film industry".
All entries should be submitted by 31st July 2006 in DVD format only, and a 10-euro entry fee applies.
Entries should be no longer than seven minutes in total, and should have been made within the last two years.
Further details and entry forms can be found on www.ranelagharts.org or by e-mailing [email protected]
