Impossible Pictures Appoints New Managing Director

Impossible Pictures has appointed Jonathan Drake as Managing Director, a major addition to the senior management team.
As Managing Director, he will work with Company Founders, Jasper James and Tim Haines, to handle all commercial deals and acquisitions and to further the implementation of a growth strategy.
Drake joins Impossible Pictures from TVIP, a consultancy and rights agency for indies which he set up in 2004. During his time at TVIP he worked with a range of producers, helping them drive commercial returns from their IP rights following the Broadcasting Act. Prior to this he worked at BBC Worldwide as Director of one of their global business units.
Commenting on his appointment, Drake said: "Impossible Pictures has a great track record in innovation and both Jasper and Tim are among the most respected people in the business. I have worked with them for two years and I believe the company is one of the most forward-thinking and creative indies in the UK. Its reputation for producing high end programming is renowned across the globe and on top of that, they’re great people to work with. I’m delighted to be joining Impossible as one of the in-house team.”
Tim Haines, co-founder of Impossible Pictures, added: "This appointment comes at a significant stage in the company’s development. Jonathan will play a vital role in making our plans for the future a reality, and ensuring that our programme-making achievements are matched by our business success.
In just five years the Emmy and Bafta award-winning team at Impossible Pictures has grown in numbers from 2 to 50+. The company has achieved cult status within the realms of CGI and high impact factual, TV drama and in the past year alone has produced 13 hours of programming, achieving a turnover of over £17million."
