Impossible Pictures Snares Monster Success

UK independent producer Impossible Pictures is celebrating international sales of primetime hit drama Primeval with BBC America.
It is now in 60 million U.S. homes, showing two seasons of the prehistoric thriller through BBC Worldwide.
This is the latest in a long line of international sales and follows the success of series one, which sold in 42 countries worldwide. The second series of Primeval has already been licensed to seven international broadcasters ahead of its showcase launch.
Alongside BBC America these broadcasters include Channel 9 in Australia and Prosieben Television in Germany.
Primeval will be one of BBC Worldwide’s key brands at BBC Showcase, the four day event which sees BBC Worldwide generate programme sales and broker international funding deals for co productions on behalf of the BBC and independent producers.
The event breaks new ground this year when it becomes the first of its kind to go completely digital.
The 7x60 min series picks up where the first left off and follows a team of scientists, who investigate anomalies in time and save the world from predators of another time. A third series has been commissioned and will go into production later this year.
