Impossible Pictures Commissioned To Make Landmark Series 'Natural Wonders'
BAFTA and Emmy award-winning indie, Impossible Pictures, has been commissioned by Discovery Channel to make 'Natural Wonders', a new six-part science series.
In a seamless blend of geology, geography, natural history and human history, this stunning documentary series tells the unique stories behind some of the world’s favourite natural wonders. Each hour-long episode will visit a different breathtaking destination, including the Grand Canyon, Angel Falls and the Sahara Desert.
Underpinned by riveting anecdotes, spectacular special effects and impressive reconstructions, Natural Wonders follows daring thrill-seekers and intrepid adventurers around the globe, while they dive, surf, climb and fly over our planet’s most dramatic scenery.
Jasper James, Co-founder and Creative Director, Impossible Pictures: “These are the places at the top of everyone’s ‘must see’ list but few realise that behind these wonders are natural and human histories that rival their physical beauty. This series is a potent blend of spectacle, adrenaline and revelation and exemplifies what Impossible does best - producing high quality programmes to take audiences to places they have never been before. It’s a series that everyone should see before they die….”
Peter Lovering, vice president of production and development for Discovery Channel and The Science Channel added: "We are proud to partner once again with Impossible Pictures for this stunning ambitious new series. With Impossible, Discovery knows it is working with producers at the top of their craft."
Natural Wonders is an Impossible Pictures production for Discovery Channel and was commissioned by Peter Lovering. The series is produced by Will Aslett, directed by Toby MacDonald, Srik Narayanan, Steve Eder and Tom Stubberfield and Executive Produced by Jasper James.
Natural Wonders is in production for delivery Summer 2007 and will be distributed internationally by Discovery Channel.
