Verve Pictures And Dogwoof Pictures Join FDA

Film Distributors’ Association (FDA), the trade body for UK theatrical distributors, have announced that Verve Pictures and Dogwoof Pictures are joining FDA with immediate effect.
This brings FDA membership to twenty companies, including fourteen UK independents.
Verve Pictures’ current release is ‘The Flying Scotsman’, directed by Douglas Mackinnon. The remarkable true story of cycling gold medalist, Graeme Obree, the film features a highly acclaimed performance by Jonny Lee Miller in the title role, alongside Laura Fraser, Billy Boyd and Brian Cox. This autumn, Verve will release Jon Poll’s new comedy, Charlie Bartlett, starring Robert Downey, Jnr, Hope Davis and Anton Yelchin.
Dogwoof Pictures recently launched Nick and Marc Francis’s riveting documentary, Black Gold, with a West End premiere. Their latest release is Olivier Peyon’s Les Petites Vacances starring Bernadette Lafont as an enigmatic grandmother who takes her two grandchildren on an extended holiday. Specialising in independent world cinema, Dogwoof is very pro-active in reaching audiences through online initiatives.
Mark Batey, FDA Chief Executive, said: "In recent years, both Verve and Dogwoof have established themselves successfully in a crowded market place through innovative marketing and careful distribution of a wide range of specialised films. We are really delighted that they are joining FDA and look forward to their expert contributions to industry matters."
