Shoot NI hunts down top locations

Ireland’s only locations company based in Belfast for under seven months has already helped five film productions and several television productions to find suitable shooting locations.
Independent company, Shoot NI provides production companies with a variety of solutions to suit clients' requirements. Also available are radios and telephones on short contract basis to help to quickly establish the all-important infrastructure for the production team.
Shoot NI's Chris Patterson said: “We provide a full range of services to clients, from shoot locations to scouting and we can provide rentals and sales where necessary.
“We have helped five films shoot in Northern Ireland so far and we are planning to expand the service to include the South of Ireland as well.
“For the suspense thriller 'Waz' we sourced an Belfast interior, the old Harland and Wolff shipyard Titanic design hall, that was suitable for a New York Police department building. An exterior in the shipyard was set decorated to appear like an New York street at night and the production crew shot from 5pm to 5am to do the night scenes.”
Chris was also the location manager on Nick Roeg's latest feature film 'Puffball' which shot in Ireland and is also slated for a 2007 release.
The television portfolio includes 'Belboys,' and 'Branson: Quest for the best.'
The company are setting up an online database of locations for productions to use and will be using specialist software to enable producers to view specific types of scenes on webpages from anywhere in the world.
