'Hell's Kitchen' USA goes east

Granada International has sold the US version of reality hit Hell’s Kitchen to a number of broadcasters in Asia.
The Asia Food Network, UBC Thailand, Orion Media Korea, Discovery India and Solar in The Philippines have each acquired the 9 x 60 minute series, starring Michelin-starred UK chef Gordon Ramsay.
The brand new second series of Hell’s Kitchen USA, a Granada America and A. Smith co-production for Fox is currently in post production and will premiere in the US on 12 June 2006.
Other Granada International deals in the region include two ITV crime dramas 'Rosemary and Thyme' produced by Carnival Films and 'Murder in Suburbia' produced by ITV Productions, which have been sold to The Mystery Channel in Japan and Hollywood TV Movie 'The Triumph' starring Matthew Perry, which has been acquired by Japanese state broadcaster NHK.
George Sakkalli, VP International Sales, Japan commented: “UK mystery and crime series continue to be a huge hit in Japan. Shows such as Agatha Christie’s Poirot and Marple have a tremendous following among young Japanese audiences.”
