SMG CONTINUE EXPANSION

FOLLOWING the release of its boosted profit Interim Results, SMG has announced the development of a new printing facility at Cambuslang Investment Park, Glasgow.
The group, which has a stated commitment to continued investment and expansion, will print The Herald, Sunday Herald and Evening Times newspapers at the new facility.
SMG, the largest Scottish television broadcaster, is investing with the help of Scottish Enterprise Glasgow in the £36 million site. Martin Dawson, Scottish Enterprise Glasgow's Director of Property & Environment, said: "It is an indication of the success of the first phase of our Strategic Sites programme that Scottish Enterprise Glasgow has been able to provide SMG with a site in Cambuslang for its new printing facility in Scotland. SMG Publishing will join many other companies already benefiting from the excellent communication links this site enjoys.”
SMG has expressed an interest in expanding its media holdings across the board, with possible future developments including the purchase of a larger stake in GMTV and development of New Media Business.
