Pinnacle Systems to supply Al-Majd satellite channel

Pinnacle Systems have won an order valued at $700,000 from Al-Majd, the world’s first English language Islamic station.
Al-Majd, which is also the newest station in the Middle East, have acquired a variety of live production and non-linear editing equipment, including two PDS6000i vision mixers, three Deko 500 CGs, a DekoCast master control graphics system, two ThunderLT broadcast clip servers, a Lightning100 still store, and ten TARGA3000 editing and compositing solutions.
The units will be used at Al-Majd’s new facilities in Dubai Media City and Saudi Arabia.
The equipment will be supplied and installed by UAE-based Pinnacle partner, TekSignals.
Tariq Raja, Managing Director of TekSignals, said: “Pinnacle Systems’ equipment is ideal for an application such as this – high performance coupled with very reasonable prices make it the most cost-effective option available. In addition, because Pinnacle have an office in the Middle East, Al-Majd can be assured of immediate back-up and support 24/7.”
Richard Scott, VP EAME, Pinnacle Systems, added: “We’re delighted that Al-Majd has ordered Pinnacle Systems products as it is a very high-profile application which will be a great showcase for our products. I am confident that Al-Majd will benefit from using our networked live production systems as they have been designed to allow users to maximise their creativity and workflow capabilities. All Pinnacle products deliver best-of-class creative tools and seamless integration between systems to minimise engineering challenges and extend creative productivity.”
