RTV Drenthe goes on air with Pinnacle Systems Vortex
Pinnacle Systems has announced that RTV Drenthe, the regional Netherlands broadcaster, has gone on air with the networked installation of its Vortex PS100 news production system.
The deployment is part of a complete transformation of the broadcaster's TV and radio production facilities at its new studio complex.
The move to the new site is part of a strategy to streamline production workflow, as well as bring greater flexibility to the news creation process.
The complete Pinnacle deployment represents an investment of US$1 million and has been the catalyst to bring together both TV and radio journalists into a single editorial environment.
Gerald Rook, head of technical resources, RTV Drenthe, said: "Our goal is to take advantage of our creative and technical expertise far more extensively, removing duplication in content development. The Pinnacle solution allows us to do this through the creation of a true networked media environment, as opposed to only a hybrid solution that many of the other systems we tested were offering."
