RTE AT IBC 2000 DIGITAG CONFERENCE

RTE’S Peter Branagan will be among a panel of international speakers at the Digital Terrestrial Television Action Group’s (DigiTag) Mini Conference on ‘Digital Terrestrial Television Service Models’ at IBC 2000.
The conference aims to address a range of issues facing television service providers as Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) becomes more widespread throughout Europe.
Organisers DigiTAG say that the mini-conference will discuss different business models, consumer needs and expectations, as well as previous international models and broadcast platform compatibility.
Branagan will speak on ‘Adding Value with Interactivity’, with other guest presentations including: ‘Patterns Emerging in the Plans for Services’ (Martin Bell, BBC, UK), ‘Learning from the UK Experience’ (Peter Marshall, DTG, UK) and ‘The Horizontal Market and Integrated Digital Televisions’ (Adrian Northover-Smith, Sony, UK).
DigiTAG was founded at IBC 1996 to analyse the effects of DTT for television industry professionals. In the four years since three European countries, the UK, Sweden and Spain, launched their DTT services.
The total DTT audience is currently put at almost one million homes throughout Europe.
