DTT OVERVIEW COURSE COMES TO THE UK
FOLLOWING the successful implementation of the world’s first commercial DVB-based Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) service in the UK, a three-day overview course has been organised at the University of Surrey at Guildford, which will run from April 4 to 6 2001.
The course is aimed at those who need an overview of DTT, and at those who need to know what questions they will have to answer. It is firmly based on practical experience gained in the UK and the topics will include MPEG-2 encoding, OFDM modulation, distribution networks and transmitters.
A large range of material is covered over the three days of this course and it is intended to give a general overview rather than go into a great deal of detail. The course will suit technical engineers with a reasonable knowledge about general broadcasting principles.
The keynote speakers will include: Peter Barnett, Standards Manager at Tandberg Television; Alois Bock; Adrian Turner; Ian Pullen; Richard Hall, Product Manager responsible for Adherent’s strategy in digital markets; Keith L Hayler, Technical Manger of DTT at Crown Castle and Simon Hughes, Business Development Manager at NDS.
The standard rate to attend the course is £850 and enquiries should be to Barbara Steel, Course Co-ordinator on:
Tel: +44 (0)1483 876041
