Pacific Television Center opens new UK facility
Pacific Television Center, a Los Angeles-based independent transmission and production facility, has announced the opening of their new digital insert studio and master control room in London.
Pacific Television Center will use the facility to produce and transmit a wide range of broadcast content for a variety of clients, such as television networks, cable channels, film studios and publicity companies. New connectivity at the London site includes two full-time fibre circuits to/from their MCR in Los Angeles and digital facility lines to/from BT Tower in London.
“We hope to service many of our current clients in the US and abroad, while capturing several new clients whose needs would require a facility within the UK,” said Howard Fine, Pacific Television Center’s vice president of broadcast services.
More than 20 years of client satisfaction and strategic alliances have made Pacific Television Center a staple for both distribution and live broadcast production. From a single local loop and one studio in Los Angeles during the early years, to a powerhouse of connectivity and four studios—including the new one in London—Pacific Television Center caters to clients across multiple industries and international borders.
Richard Neri, president of Pacific Television Center, said: “We provide seamless access across town or around the world to meet all of our clients’ transmission needs at extremely competitive rates. Our new presence in the UK demonstrates our desire to further enhance these capabilities on a more global scale.”
Pacific Television Center’s new London facility is conveniently located at 6 Braham Street, within one of Level 3 Communications’ data centres. Level 3 is one of the largest providers of collocation space in the world, operating more than 70 state-of-the-art data centres in the US and Europe. Level 3’s infrastructure, including extensive connectivity, security and power backup systems, provided a comprehensive solution for this expansion.
