RTE APPOINT TWO TV COMMISSIONING EDITORS

News Image
RTE, the Irish National Public Service Broadcaster, have announced the appointment of two Commissioning Editors in their Television Division.
Mairead Ni Nuadhain has been appointed Commission Editor for Irish Language Programmes, and Billy McGrath becomes the Commissioning Editor for Entertainment.
Mairead Ni Nuadhain is the originator and series producer of the documentary series ‘Leargas’. Earlier this year she produced ‘To The Ends of the Earth’, a programme on Irish missions, and she has also produced the entertainment show ‘Limelight’. Nuadhain began her career in RTE as a presenter and reporter, working for many years on the nightly current affairs programme ‘Cursai’.
Billy McGrath joined RTE as a television producer and director. His credits include ‘U2 Wide Awake in Dublin’ and ‘Self Aid – Behind The Screens’.
In 1994, McGrath won the European Script Award and designed Ireland’s first comedy writing course in association with Irish Screen Training, RTE, TG4 and the Galway Film Centre.
RTE say that the filling of these posts completes the restructuring of senior management in the Television Division announced last June by Cathal Goan, RTE's Director of Television.
