Mir Belogorya invests in Leader instrumentation

Mir Belogorya, one of the Russian Federation's newest television channels, has chosen a Leader LV5100D digital signal analyser for its headquarters in Belgorod.
Founded by the regional government, Mir Belogorya produces news and information programming from a modern tapeless studio located in the city centre.
The LV5100D was purchased from Moscow-based ISPA-Engineering, partner of Leader's Master Distributor in Europe, elQuip BV.
Tatyana Antonova of ISPA's Project Department said: "The Leader LV5100D purchased by Mir Belogorya is installed in the master control room and is being used for signal monitoring and analysis via a Leitch 16 x 16 SDI router. The Mir Belogorya engineering staff are impressed by the analyser's digital repeatability, versatility and ease of operation."
Paul Vos, elQuip BV Managing Director, added: "The LV5100D is proving a popular test and measurement instrument among broadcasters in the Russian Federation and was recently chosen for installation at Channel 7 in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk." Designed for use with both 625/50 and 525/60 sources, the LV5100D incorporates passive dual component serial digital input channels conforming to ITU-R656-1 and SMPTE-259M. An active output provides onward transmission from either source. The instrument is also equipped with a triple-channel YUV/GBR analogue input. An integral 150 mm rectangular high-intensity P4-phosphor CRT enables Y or G chroma components to be viewed as a television image. The intensity-modulated display of a selected image line can be used to check the positional relationship between a video signal and its corresponding image. Signal levels can be measured easily using electronically-generated cursor reference lines.
Measuring just 215 mm x 429 mm x 132 mm (WDH), the LV5100D incorporates a data dump function enabling a user-defined line of digital data to be viewed as hex values. Other features include X-Y display of stereo audio, and ten user-assignable memories enabling frequently-employed measurement parameters to be stored for rapid recall.
