Pyser-SGI Announces Launch Of New Fujinon Lenses

A brand new family of Fujinon cost effective 2/3 inch format ENG lenses for high definition video cameras is being made available through UK/Ireland distributor Pyser-SGI Limited, the company has announced.
Released at NAB 2008, Fujinon's new Select Series comprise the HD wide angle ZA12x4.5BE, the ZA17x7.6BE standard lens, and the telephoto ZA22x7.6BE.
Designed specifically to meet the performance needs of the next generation of cost effective HD cameras, the Select Series ZA lenses are ideal for a wide range of applications including newsgathering, sports and special OB events, educational programmes and film and independent HDTV productions.
Paul Goodwin, Pyser-SGI's Divisional Head of Broadcast and CCTV Products, said: "As a result of working closely with all the major camera manufacturers Fujinon has introduced this versatile new series of affordable yet high quality HD ENG lenses that significantly enhance the performance of the latest lower cost HD cameras to allow a greater variety of creative, dramatic and exciting programmes - on appreciably tighter budgets - for the growing HDTV production market."
Offering the advantages of Fujinon's DigiPower digital servo technology, the Select Series lenses feature Inner Focus, Quick Zoom, One-Shot Preset, Cruise Zoom and remote control via RS232 link.
The ZA12x4.5 has a focal length from wide angle 4.5 mm to 54 mm. Maximum relative aperture is F1.8 at 4.5 mm, increasing to F2.4 AT 54 mm. MOD is only 0.3 m from the front of the lens, and weight is 1.93 kg. The standard ZA17x7.6 lens has a focal length from 7.6 mm to 130 mm. Maximum relative aperture is F1.8 at 7.6 mm, increasing to F2.3 AT 130 mm. Weight is 1.53 kg. The telephoto ZA22x7.6 has a focal length from 7.6 mm to 167 mm at highest magnification (334 mm with 2x extender for extreme telephoto shots). Maximum relative aperture is F1.8 at 7.6 mm, increasing to F2.5 at 167 mm. Weight is 1.75 kg. All the Select Series ZA lenses have a built-in 2x extender.
