Chyron to introduce Duet MicroX and Duet LX at IBC

At IBC, Chyron are introducing two cost-effective options for broadcast-quality graphics generation and real-time animation.
The Duet LX is Chyron’s scalable CG that provides the power of the Duet LEX in an affordable system, while the Duet MicroX is a compact, single-channel CG that packs the features of Duet LX into 2 RU.
Both systems feature state-of-the-art engineering paired with Chyron’s award-winning Lyric graphics application.
Lyric features brilliant, real-time 2D/3D graphics and animation, simple, on- and offline graphics creation and editing, and via Chyron MOS, interoperability with NCS operations.
With the ability to instantly update text and graphics from a variety of sources, Duet MicroX can function as the main CG in a smaller facility, or as a dedicated channel in a larger institution, making it a perfect, cost-effective solution for studio and mobile live broadcast and production operations. The installation of a full suite of upgrades transforms MicroX into a single-channel Duet LEX.
Duet LX Features:
  • Ability to mix up to three channels in one chassis, as well as an optional single or dual clip player.
  • Compact, rugged 4 RU chassis.
  • High-speed Chyron Digital Video Processing Board with fully antialiased text.
  • Internal keyer with bypass (per channel).
  • Gigabit Ethernet.
  • Open platform ensuring interoperability, scalability and upgradeability.
  • M-JPEG or single/dual MPEG/DV Internal Clip Players (optional) - includes video/audio capture.
  • PCI-Squeezeback board (optional).
  • C-Mix Multi-Layer SD Mixer (optional).
At the core of the Duet LX is a high-speed graphics engine, capable of supporting up to three independent or linked channels plus an optional single or dual clip player module. Duet LX is versatile enough to grow with any facility, allowing for single or multiple optional upgrades to be effortlessly integrated into your schedule. By installing a full suite of upgrades, the Duet LX transforms into a fully functional Duet LEX.
Duet MicroX features:
  • Compact, rugged 2 RU chassis.
  • High-speed Chyron Digital Video Processing Board with fully antialiased text.
  • Internal keyer with bypass (per channel).
  • 10/100 BaseT Ethernet.
  • Dual-redundant, hot-swappable AC power supply with PFC.
Both the Duet MicroX and Duet LX can integrate single or multiple optional upgrades for creation and playout enhancement. These include 3D objects movie objects, macro scripting and execution, and interface options.
Also available are Advanced Text Effects - animated 2D text and Advanced Image Effects - OGL effects applied to graphics elements, and a Clip Control Panel for precision control over clip record/playout (On the Duet MicroX does not apply to video file clips).
