Chyron Duet HyperX HD/SD switchable click of a mouse
At NAB 2005, Chyron announced that its high-performance Duet HyperX HD/SD character generator is HD/SD switchable at the click of a mouse.
The system features up to two software-switchable HD/SD channels, either one of which may integrate a compressed HD/SD-switchable clip player. Chyron claim that Duet HyperX HD/SD's ability to effortlessly switch among HD and SD formats makes it invaluable in a multi-format broadcast environment.
According to Kevin Prince, Senior Vice-President, Operations and Engineering, Chyron continues to offer the widely used Duet HyperX SD, which can easily be scaled to HD by switching out the SD channels for HD channels. Completing the upgrade, the SD single-channel M-JPEG or single/dual-channel MPEG-2/DV25[ER1] clip player can be replaced by an HD clip player.
The heart of all Duet HyperX systems is a high-speed, dual-processor graphics engine. Running Chyron's award-winning Lyric CG and graphics application, spectacular, multi-layer effects and transitions can be created and played out in real-time.
An open platform ensures interoperability, so that Duet HyperX systems can take maximum advantage of the latest innovations by integrating the most current video processing hardware.
