Duna Televízió Purchases Graphics Equipment From Chyron

Chyron Corporation has announced that major Hungarian broadcaster Duna Televízió (Duna TV), one of the country’s state-owned television networks, has purchased two MicroX and two LX graphics systems to provide state-of-the-art graphics capabilities for its studio and Outside Broadcast (OB) facilities. The installation was carried out by Chyron’s Hungarian partner Studiotech.
Broadcasting from Budapest, Duna TV is the only Hungarian television station that transmits its programmes via satellite to Hungarian-speaking citizens living in other European countries including Romania, Slovakia and Serbia. A Chyron advocate for a number of years, Duna TV is using one of the Chyron LXs as the heart of its graphics playout in its six-camera OB vehicle, which is used for major live events throughout Hungary including sports, drama and music concerts. The second LX will be used in the studio to deliver graphics for its 24/7 news bulletins.
The two MicroX graphics systems will play a major role in both of the station’s playout and production studios, delivering captivating graphics content which can be created on or offline, locally or remotely. Duna TV, which began broadcasting in December 1992, was the first station to broadcast programmes for and news about the Hungarian minority in Europe and the first Hungarian station to broadcast 24/7.
David Ward VP and general manager, Chyron EAME commented: “We are delighted that Duna TV has once again selected Chyron to provide graphics capabilities for its station. Both the LX and MicroX have proven track records in demanding situations, and provide an excellent foundation as the channel continues to expand.”
The LX is Chyron’s scalable standard definition character generator, boasting a commanding feature set. The MicroX is an entry-level system available in SD- or HD/SD-switchable configurations. Both systems have the outstanding ability to grow, with the addition of premium options for their award-winning Lyric 2D/3D animation software.
