Chyron announces major Duet Hyperx sales to German broadcast duo

As a result of Chyron Corporation’s major framework agreement with German broadcaster ARD, Chyron has announced two key multiple sales of its flagship Duet HyperX Character Generator (CG) to MDR in Leipzig and RBB in Babelsberg.
As a part of these contracts, Chyron GmbH in Wiesbaden handled training, commissioning and support.
MDR, a long-standing Chyron advocate, has purchased eight Chyron Duet HyperX CGs which will play a chief role in the German broadcaster’s brand new graphics centre. The Chyron Duet HyperXs will provide MDR with a highly advanced graphics system with exceptional capabilities including advanced 3D.
RBB, also a Chyron customer for many years, has taken delivery of seven Chyron Duet HyperXs providing RBB with the premier CG, which will form the heart of its new playout facility. Using Chyron Duet HyperX, with the award winning Lyric compositing application, RBB has a real-time CG platform that utilises next generation high-speed bus architecture providing a future proof path to HD.
Chyron’s framework agreement with ARD, which was carried out after extensive testing by Bayerische Rundfunk (BR), an ARD member based in Munich, sees ARD recommending Chyron CGs to its 16 regional members, including MDR, RBB and NDR which broadcast across the whole of Germany on terrestrial, cable and satellite television. At IBC 2004, following ARD’s recommendations, NDR placed an order for 30, single and dual channel Chyron Duet LEX character generators.
