Digital Vision to unveil the Nucoda DVO Station at IBC

Digital Vision (Stand 7.631), a leading developer of advanced digital media applications specialising in film and video solutions, has announced it will be unveiling a new collection of software-based image enhancement tools called the Nucoda Digital Vision Optics (DVO) at IBC.
The Nucoda DVO Station incorporates Digital Vision’s award-winning image enhancement tools (popularly known as the DVNR) as well as the effects, editorial, and conforming tools included in the Nucoda Film Cutter system.
Until this time, Digital Vision’s image enhancement algorithms have only been available in hardware and utilised standard video I/O formats. The new DVO Image Enhancement software tools work at any resolution from SD video to 4K data. The Nucoda DVO Station includes software versions of the popular AGR4 ME grain management and electronic noise reducer and ASC3 ME film dirt and random scratch concealment tools. Both tools make full use of Digital Vision’s latest PHAME™ motion estimation algorithms, which allow colourists and restoration artists to automatically eliminate film dirt, random scratches, video drop-outs, electronic noise, as well as control the look of film grain, without generating unwanted artefacts.
The DVO Image Enhancement software will also be available as an add-on option for customers with the Nucoda Film Cutter and Nucoda Film Master systems. Nucoda Film Cutter is a resolution independent, data-centric editing, conforming, effect and pre-visualisation system that runs on standard PC hardware. Nucoda Film Master is a comprehensive primary and secondary colour grading system.
Utilising more than 20 years of proven technology and expertise, DVO is the ultimate in noise reduction, grain management and scratch concealment. DVNR is an established and respected hardware technology and Digital Vision is now bringing this excellence to software. DVO, with its Emmy™ Award-winning PHAME™ motion estimation algorithms, raises the quality level of software-based tools for enhancement of film and video content to a new level.
The Nucoda DVO Station system will be released during Quarter 4 of this year. The DVO Image Enhancement software tools can also be purchased as an add-on to the Nucoda Film Cutter and Nucoda Film Master systems. The company will introduce more DVO software tools from the DVNR range as well as brand new tools based on the Digital Vision Motion Estimation technology.
