M8media Purchases Nucoda Film Master Colour Grading System

Digital Vision, a leading developer of advanced digital media applications specialising in film and video solutions, has announced that leading Glasgow facility, M8media, is the latest company to purchase a Nucoda Film Master colour grading system.
Its purchase will allow the recently re-launched and re-branded company - formerly Scottish stalwart of the post production scene, JAe - to meet the burgeoning demand for grading in its marketplace.
"Most network programmes completed here go through a grade," explained company founder, Jim Allison. "The Film Master allows us to work on everything from standard definition television to 4k film. We looked at a raft of different solutions and Digital Vision ticked all the boxes for the work that we do and offered the best performance for value."
The Nucoda Film Master purchase is part of an ongoing expansion programme for M8media that saw the company relocate near to the city's chic Pacific Quay development and add a 1000sq ft HD/film studio to its facilities as well as the grading cinema fitted out with a new Barco DP100 Digital cinema projector.
Recently completed projects on the Film Master include a new 5 x 60 series for the BBC called 'Mountain' through IWC media. "Written and presented by Griff Rhys Jones and shot on HDCAM, the series looks at Britain's mountains in much the same way that 'Coast' explored the UK," said Allison. "The footage is stunningly beautiful and the grading further enhances the impact."
Simon Cuff, President and COO, Digital Vision said: "With over 30 Nucoda systems installed in the UK and Irish Republic alone we are pleased that M8 has cemented our position as market leader for software Digital intermediate systems.
"M8's vision to deploy a Film Master DI system for tapeless broadcast work as well as feature films shows how flexible the system is. It also demonstrates that for fast turnaround it is vital for a grading system to do more than just grade. The tight integration with Non Linear Editors (NLEs) and our world class image enhancement toolset Digital Vision Optics (DVO) makes the Film Master the workhorse of any facility."
