Digital Vision unveils its 17 Processor Nucoda Workstation

Digital Vision, a leading developer of advanced digital media applications specialising in film and video solutions, has unveiled its eagerly anticipated 17 Processor Nucoda Workstation based around Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) illustrious AMD64 multi core technology.
The 17 Processor Nucoda Workstation, which will be demonstrated on Digital Vision’s booth SL517, includes the latest NVIDIA Quadro FX 5500 SDI by PNY graphics board incorporating breakthrough technology in graphics processing with new levels of performance.
The state-of-the-art Nucoda Workstation will provide Nucoda powerhouse creatives with a hardware platform that supports the full range of Nucoda data-centric software including Nucoda Film Master, Nucoda Film Cutter, Nucoda Data Conform and Nucoda DVO Image Processing tools. This new system provides colourists and restoration artists with incredible processing speeds that are more than 10 times faster.
Digital Vision will also be displaying its 9 Processor Nucoda Workstation, which can easily be upgraded to a 17 Processor Nucoda Workstation by adding four dual core processors.
Robert Ekström, President of Digital Vision commented: “This announcement validates Digital Vision’s strategy to use High Performance Computing (HPC) platforms for image processing and programme finishing. We have responded to the needs of the creative community by recognising that our clients require interactive capabilities when grading in front of Directors and DoPs as well as providing greater processing power for completing restoration projects in 4k.”
The AMD64 technology gives the Nucoda workstation unprecedented power for complex colour correction, multiple layers, 4k, grain management and dust concealment. The multi-processor has already been ordered by a number of high profile film facilities including Foto-Kem in Burbank, The Chimney Pot in Sweden, iO Film in Hollywood and i-Cubed in Chicago. (CD/CL)
