Skillset’s Inside Pictures launches

Skillset’s Inside Pictures, the film business training programme now funded by the Skillset Film Skills Fund, is now accepting applications.
Based around three intensive one-week modules, Skillset’s Inside Pictures takes place in London and Los Angeles between November 2005 and May 2006. Seminars, workshops and studio visits are hosted by some of the US and UK’s most senior industry professionals. The programme covers all aspects of international film business - from development through production, financing, worldwide distribution and exhibition - and provides networking and profile raising opportunities for the participants.
The successful applicants will be 14 executives and producers who display ambition, a determination to broaden their knowledge of the global film industry, and expand their network of contacts. They should have a minimum of a five year track record in film or an associated creative industry such as television.
This initiative is supported by the National Lottery through the Skillset Film Skills Fund as part of A Bigger Future, the UK Film Skills Strategy and is run by Michael Kuhn’s Qwerty Films.
Application forms can be downloaded from www.inside-pictures.com and www.skillset.org or requested from the Skillset’s Inside Pictures office on 020 7440 5924. The deadline for applications is August 26 2005.
Iain Smith, Producer and Chair of the Film Skills Strategy Committee overseeing the implementation of A Bigger Future, said: “Skillset’s Inside Pictures is a chance for some of the best film business talent at work in the UK to hone their skills and knowledge base and take it to the next level. It’s a great scheme which benefits the industry by helping to develop our future innovators and entrepreneurs.”
Jill Tandy, Programme Director and Co-Managing Director of Qwerty Films, said: "Thanks to the extraordinary commitment of so many of the industry s top professionals there can be no other international executive training programme of this caliber anywhere else in the world. Their unparalleled investment in our most promising business talent will continue to benefit industry for years to come"
The LA module is supported by the UK Film Council LA office and United International Pictures and Film London are sponsors of the programme.
