CARLTON ACTIVE EXPAND INTO INTERACTIVE TELEVISION
CARLTON Active have increased their staffing levels five-fold and have moved to 4,100 square feet of new offices, in Golden Square, London.
Launched in May 2000 with only six people, Carlton Active have now expanded to a team of 35 professionals, offering the latest in user-friendly interactive programme services and interactive commercials across all three digital television platforms – digital terrestrial, digital satellite and digital cable.
Jane Marshall, Chief Executive of Carlton Active, said: “Not since the invention of the television by Logie Baird in the 1920’s and the revolution of colour in the 60’s have we seen such an exciting development in television. Interactive television has to be one of the fastest growing areas in broadcasting today and Carlton Active is at the forefront of it.”
Carlton Active launched the first world interactive programme on digital terrestrial television, via ‘Baby Baby’, a ten part series aimed at new parents and parents-to-be, broadcast on ITV.
Later in the year Carlton Active intend to take ‘Children’s ITV’ (CITV) into a new era with the launch of interactive programmes and advertising across the entire week’s schedule.
The first interactive BRIT Awards and its pre-show programme, created by Carlton Active, will be broadcast on ITV on February 27 and 26 respectively.
Viewers will be able to access artist biographies and interviews, play games, win prizes and purchase CDs and BRIT merchandise.
Carlton Active are set to launch the first interactive commercials on ITV in March. (CMcL)
