Granada International sends 'monster take away' to Scandinavia

Granada International Managing Director Nadine Nohr has said that two of its top formats have been licensed to Scandinavian broadcasters.
Award-winning entertainment game show 'Saturday Night Take Away' will be made in Finland and a version of automotive makeover show 'Monster Garage' will be made in Sweden.
Granada’s hit primetime show Saturday Night Take Away will be produced by Broadcasters Group in Finland for MTV3 Finland. The 10 x 1 hour series will be a big-budget weekly primetime show for MTV3’s Spring 2005 schedule.
In a separate deal the innovative factual entertainment format Monster Garage, will be produced by MTV Mastiff for Sweden’s Kanal 5. Created for a weekly access primetime slot, the 8 x 1 hour series will transmit from May 2005. The Monster Garage format is represented by Granada International on behalf of Original Productions.
Both license deals were concluded by Noel Hedges, Vice President Sales, Scandinavia and French-speaking Europe, at Granada International.
Laura Burrell, Head of Formats at Granada International said: “Scandinavia is an incredibly competitive market for formats, and I’m sure the strength of the UK and US track record of these two formatted shows was a key factor in securing these deals”.
Granada International, part of Granada, is one of the largest commercial distributors in Europe. Granada International's catalogue encompasses some of the best in UK network television production, international co-productions, formats, Hollywood TV movies, classic film libraries and high quality programming from the worldwide independent production sector.
