SCREEN Subtitling Systems chose NAB 2001 to launch their 'Polistream' range of digital transmission subtitling solutions.
The company have used their expertise in the DVB market place to develop this new generation of digital subtitle transmission products.
Polistream is a scaleable, high capacity, compact subtitling solution for terrestrial, cable and satellite DVB services, with the emphasis on space efficiency, making the product particularly suitable for a multichannel, multilanguage installation.
The Polistream eradicates the need for multiple boxes and allows control of multiple system output via a server workstation, or remotely via the Internet. The system can be implemented in a scaleable manner to allow the simple addition of channels and languages and can be configured to provide optimum levels of redundancy for all inputs, outputs and processing elements with automatic switch over.
The applications can run under NT and windows 2000, ensuring a fully scaleable product that can meet the dynamic needs of additional channels and extra languages quickly and efficiently.
Polistream also readily handles opportunistic data allowing operators to maximise the usage of available bandwidth through the management of private data alongside DVB subtitles. This innovative approach ensures that bandwidth allocation can be fully optimised at all times whilst ensuring the secure delivery of subtitles.
