CHANNEL 4 CHOOSE SKY INTERACTIVE

BRITISH Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB) have announced that Channel 4 have chosen Sky Interactive to build the enhanced television application that will enable the new series of ‘Big Brother’ to broadcast interactively on digital satellite television.
The interactive application will allow digital satellite viewers to ‘go behind’ the action on each night's episode of ‘Big Brother’ and choose between four viewing feeds from the ‘Big Brother’ house - two live feeds and two time-shifted options.
Sky digital viewers will also be able to take part in interactive polls and vote for evictions through their television set.
The interactive service will be available to Sky digital viewers watching E4, the new digital entertainment channel from Channel Four.
Channel Four's Head of Interactive Television, Peter Good, said: "This is great news for fans of ‘Big Brother’. The interactive application will make one of the most-watched television programmes of the year even more compelling. We are constantly seeking ways to add value to our programming and this is another example of our strategy of developing original applications to accompany our programmes".
Details about the airdate for the new series of Big Brother will be announced in due course. (CD)
