'Fifteen to One' goes interactive on Sky Digital
The Channel 4 afternoon quiz show 'Fifteen to One' is to be broadcast in an interactive television format.
From the end of February, Sky Digital viewers will be able to play along with the interactive version, designed and developed by Channel 4 and Fremantle Interactive using Two Way TV technology.
The programme's viewers on Sky Digital can download the game using their digital remote control and compare their knowledge with the studio contestants by answering the same questions at the same time.
The home game also allows nomination as a game strategy after the first round of three possible answers via the digital remote control. The game costs no more than £1 per play and players can register their score to be in with a chance of winning each episode's cash prize. If their score qualifies, by registering their score and details, the results will be published in the Bright Blue area of Fun and Games under Interactive in the form of a leader board.
Peter Good, head of interactive and enhanced TV at Channel 4 said: “This is an exciting turning point for both viewer and the programme alike. The interactive TV element will turn viewers into regular participants of the 'Fifteen to One' experience.”
Tracy Munro, Two Way TV deputy commercial director, said: “Two Way TV pioneered the technology that enables today’s viewers to join in with their favourite shows from the comfort of their armchair. We have worked closely with Channel 4 and Fremantle Interactive to build on the success of Fifteen to One and created a winning interactive experience that I believe will attract new audiences to the show and generate additional revenue for the broadcaster.”
'Fifteen to One', which is in its fifteenth year and recently aired its 2000th episode, is made by Regent Productions, a division of FremantleMedia. The current series runs though until April 12 and series 33 runs from September 16 to December 20.
