ITV3 commissions movie preview series from APTN
ITV3 have confirmed the commissioning of a brand new movie preview series, to be co-produced by Associated Press Television News Entertainment (APTN) and MercuryMedia.
Called 'Film File', the series will expand the successful movie show franchise already established by the APTN/MercuryMedia alliance with the ITV2 programme, 'Movies Now'.
The series will premiere on ITV3's first day of transmission, and will continue with regular screenings throughout the channel's daily schedule.
The programme will be eight minutes in duration, and will preview three to four different films in each episode. It will feature previews of the latest movie releases, and will include backstage footage; interviews with the hottest stars and directors; as well as the most essential movie news and gossip.
It will be produced by APTN Entertainment's Rollo Ross.
Nick Thomas, editor of APTN Entertainment said: "We are delighted that ITV3 has recognised the quality and calibre of our movie shows, and we look forward to sharing in the success of the ITV3 start-up."
Tim Sparke, Managing Director of MercuryMedia said: "This is a great commission for the APTN/Mercury production alliance to have won. It plays to our growing reputation as the premium source of pre-packaged movie and entertainment news programming."
APTN is the world's leading video news agency, with over 80 bureaux in 67 countries linked by a network of global satellites.
APTN supplies video news, entertainment, and sports content to more than 500 broadcast newsrooms, portals, Internet, broadband and mobile products worldwide.
