Almodovar Rejoins Banderas For New Movie
Top director Pedro Almodovar is to partner once again with star Antonio Banderas.
It is more than 20 years since their last film together and the Spanish actor will play a plastic surgeon bent on revenge in the acclaimed director's next film, La Piel Que Habito (The Skin I Live In).
"It's the harshest film I've ever written and Banderas' character is brutal," the filmmaker told Spanish newspaper El Pais.
He added: "The film will be a terror film, without screams or scares - it's difficult to define and although it comes close to the terror genre, something that appeals to me that I've never done, I won't respect any of its rules."
The pairing marks one of the most anticipated film reunions in Spanish cinema since Antonio, who appeared in Pedro's early works including Labyrinth Of Passion, Matador and Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown before launching his Hollywood career, starred in Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down in 1990.
