Film London’s digital film fund announces slate of new projects
Eight talented directors have been awarded a share of £68,000 of production funding and skills development with the London’s leading digital short film scheme, Pulse.
The rules of Pulse are simple; projects must be no more than ten minutes in length, cost no more than £10,000 to produce and be shot on a digital format. Pulse provides invaluable funding and training to emerging talent in the capital including script development and advice, mentoring and masterclasses.
Pulse is a fiercely competitive scheme. This year 392 applications were received by Film London, a massive increase from the inaugural year (2002) when 152 filmmakers applied to the scheme.
Pulse shorts have received acclaim around the world; several productions have been selected by the British Council for international touring, others have screened at the prestigious Clermont-Ferrand short film festival. Many of the awardees are now moving on in the film and television industries with three of the digital short films, ‘Tube Mice’ (Dan Chambers), ‘Orders of Love’ (Jeremy Benstock) and ‘Accident’ (James Leech) screening at the 58th Edinburgh International Film Festival this year.
Further details are available at www.filmlondon.co.uk.
