Evolutions appoints Simon Kanjee Managing Director
Independent post house Evolutions has made two high-level appointments.
The company has installed ex-TSI Managing Director Simon Kanjee as its new Managing Director, and ex-TSI editor Nick King as a senior editor. Evolutions’ founders Mike Jessey and Dave Tidey remain at the helm as CEO and COO respectively.
Kanjee has been in discussions with Evolutions for a long time since leaving his position as MD of broadcast post facility, TSI, some 18 months ago. He said: “Everything has clicked into place at the right time. I’ve been consulting for a number of businesses since leaving TSI, and have always admired Evolutions as a company. They’ve got great people, are technically very good and have an excellent reputation. I’ve wanted to get back into the broadcast industry on a full-time basis, and when this opportunity came up I couldn’t turn it down. I’m very much looking forward to the challenge of further expanding the company with new facilities and new talent.”
Kanjee spent nine years at TSI, the first four as sales director and the last five as managing director. During that time, he helped grow TSI into one of the top 20 post houses in the country. Prior to that he was sales manager at Molinare Studios for four years. He started off his career in the advertising department at Broadcast Magazine.
King adds his 14 years of experience at TSI and his huge contact bank to Evolutions’ already well-established editorial team. With editing skills ranging from off-line to on-line, from linear to non-linear and from Symphony to smoke, King has a host of high-profile television programmes under his belt. Before TSI, King spent one and a half years editing at 3DTV, six months as a tape operator at Visions, three years at Rushes and three years at the BBC.
He said: “I had 14 great years at TSI but it was time for a change. There’s a fantastic atmosphere at Evolutions - everything from the light spacious suites, the friendly staff and the fantastic technical support all makes for a great client experience.”
