FRAMESTORE AWARDED EIGHTH EMMY

FRAMESTORE have won their eighth Primetime Emmy award. 'The Ballad of Big Al', broadcast in the USA as 'Allosaurus: A Walking With Dinosaurs Special', won in the ‘Outstanding Animated Program’ category.
FrameStore won this category last year with 'Walking with Dinosaurs'.
Virgil Manning, Senior Computer Animator on 'The Ballad of Big Al', believes that several techniques have been improved upon since the team worked on 'Walking with Dinosaurs'.
He said: “Changes we have introduced have led to better muscle movement in the dinosaurs and we have used higher resolution texture maps this time around. The main change that viewers should notice, though, is the bolder animation. We've steadily pushed the boundaries this time around resulting in more action in the fight department.” (CD)
