Custom Consoles' Desk For IP Expertise Center

News Image
EVS has purchased a nine-bay Custom Consoles Module-R Lite desk for the new IP Expertise Center at its headquarters in Liège. The desk incorporates an EVS DYVI live production switcher and will be used to demonstrate EVS products in a fully operational IP production environment.

A mix-and-matchable control room furniture system, the Custom Consoles Module-R series allows long-life broadcast control-room furniture to be configured to meet specific shapes and dimensions from a selection of pods, base sections, 19 inch rack housings, worktops, end-panel modules and legs. Coordinated desktop-level pods are available as single-bay sections with up 10U chassis capacity. The Module-R product range includes single-bay, dual-bay and triple-bay desk sections with front or rear access, work surfaces in matching widths, corner desk sections in 90 degree, 45 degree, 30 degree or 15 degree angles with integral worktops, slide-out keyboard drawers, equipment pods with 3U, 6U or 8U capacity, 19 in storage pedestals and 27U equipment bays.

Nicolas Bourdon, Marketing SVP, EVS, said: "Custom Consoles' Module-R Lite was the logical choice for this application as it gave us the freedom to configure a design which exactly matched our technical requirements and the available space. Module-R and Module-R Lite are used in many studios around the world which is an obvious advantage in a demonstration suite addressing the video production industry. The desk itself is 4.7 metres wide and designed for use by up to three operators. Nine equipment pods with 45 degree slanted front panels are positioned along the rear of the main work surface, each pod housing up to three rack units of communications or auxiliary control equipment. Equipment installed in the desk can be accessed very easily via nine removable panels positioned along the rear. The desk front and side are finished in white, the work surface itself being a hard-wearing white laminate. With its four silver-anodised support legs and silver-finished steel skids, it looks great and is very robust."

Gary Fuller, Sales Manager, Custom Consoles, added: "The desk chosen for this project is a standard design and should certainly help to ensure EVS customers feel they are experiencing their product evaluations in the surroundings of a normal broadcast environment. Module-R Lite was introduced for use in latest-generation IT-based studios where long-reach worktops are unnecessary. The front to back depth of Module-R Lite is a more compact 95 cm than the 120 cm depth of Module-R."
