Custom Consoles M-Desk receives FIRA approval

Custom Consoles has announced the awarding of FIRA approval for the company's latest M-Desk series of studio furniture.
The independent testing covers ergonomic and structural compliance with BSEN 527 Part 1 and BSEN ISO 9241 Part 5, and confirms the new desks as ideal for a very broad range of applications.

Now in full production, the redesigned M-Desk delivers the twin benefits of lighter weight and attractive structural design without compromising rigidity. New extruded aluminium support pillars replace the earlier box-steel legs. The height adjuster system now employs a coupling-rod arrangement to synchronise the level of the left and right pillars. This provides far greater strength and reliability than toothed-belt mechanisms. M-Desk has also been restyled aesthetically to blend in with and enhance modern workplace environments."
The height-adjustable M-Desk can be set throughout the range of 660mm to 900mm at any time. This is achieved by means of a telescopic crank handle that returns into the profile of the desk when not required. The importance of providing staff with the correct working height is increasingly recognised by ergonomists and facilities managers alike. They realise that the resulting reduction of posture-related backache and RSI soon repays the small additional investment.
M-Desk incorporates cable management ducts as standard, with optional CPU holders and ergonomic LCD monitor arms as required. The M-Desk series is completed by a range of matching pedestals and storage items.
