AP International appoint Deputy International Editor

AP International have named Barry Renfrew as its Deputy International Editor.
In his new role, Renfrew will report to Ian Ritchie, Vice President-Global Business and Managing Director of AP International, and International Editor Deborah Seward, who runs the international operation at AP's New York headquarters. Renfrew, currently AP Chief of Bureau for London, will act as a key bridge between the News Department and AP International on commercial, sales and editorial projects to help the AP meet its strategic goal of becoming the essential global news network.
Before transferring to London in 2001, Renfrew, 49, held Bureau Chief positions in Sydney, Moscow, Johannesburg, Seoul and Islamabad. A native of London, prior to becoming Bureau Chief in Pakistan in 1985, he was a newsman in Australia, on the international desk in New York, in Charleston, West Virginia and on the New York General Desk, where he joined the AP in 1978.
Ian Ritchie said: "I am delighted that Barry is joining the AP International team. He brings invaluable expertise to the organisation as we expand our products internationally, managing the regional news desks and ensuring that we deliver the news content that our customers need."
