AP Television News appoints new Head of Archives

AP Television News has bolstered its video archive business by appointing a new head, the former Managing Director of a main rival.
Alwyn Lindsey, 37, will spearhead further growth in video archives sales for AP Television News, which has already seen video archive sales increase by 50% in the past two years.
Lindsey was previously Managing Director of the ITN archive, where he oversaw a dramatic expansion in his six-year tenure.
AP Television News has one of the world’s leading news event archives, and is poised to make a multi-million dollar investment in digitization to stimulate further growth.
In his new role, Lindsey will be supported by AP Television News‚ Véronique Foucault, who is promoted to the role of the video archive’s Head of Sales and Operations.

AP Television News is the international television division of the world‚s largest and oldest news agency, The Associated Press. Its London-based archive contains nearly 500,000 news and entertainment reports dating back to 1896. It has become the definitive source of footage for major news events such as the Kosovo war, 9/11, the conflict in Iraq and the Asian Tsunami, as well as major entertainment stories.
