CURIOUS WORLD MAPS V3.0 GOES TO BETA

CURIOUS Software have announced that Curious World Maps v3.0 is now in beta with release scheduled for early February 2002.
Curious World Maps, from Curious Software, is the unique and powerful software package allows the user to quickly and easily create broadcast quality, highly-detailed, still and animated maps of anywhere in the world on any Windows PC or Mac, for broadcast television news, documentaries, video and film production and post-production, websites, and a wide range of other media.
Some of the new features included in Curious World Maps v3.0 are: International character support – in response to demand from a growing international customer base, this new feature will provide support for a variety of European and non-latin character sets; support for very large images – the PC version of curious world maps v2.5 included support for mrsid format images. These images, typically large satellite images, could only be used as independent images pinned to a map. Curious World Maps v3.0 adds the ability to import very large images in other more common formats.
Additionally, Curious World Maps v3.0 will provide support for the new Microsoft Windows XP operating system, will have load/save support for SGI format images, and will include a new style-sheet setting allowing the display of internal borders in a country, for example state boundaries in the USA, without having to add sub-regions.
