Denmark’s TV2 installs Curious World Maps in Copenhagen

Denmark’s main commercial television station, TV2, has bought Curious Software’s Curious World Maps for its Copenhagen offices.
TV2 initially installed the software at its Odense facility where for the last year it has been in constant use creating broadcast quality map graphics for a variety of programmes.
Claes Hansen, motion graphics designer for TV2, said: “Curious World Maps is a very useful tool and having proved itself over the last year we decided to invest in a second copy for our Copenhagen studios.
“We use the software to create still and animated maps for news programmes. It’s quick and easy to use and we like the idea of having the whole world in one place. Finding cities is very straightforward and we also like being able to customize the templates to create our own map style. The speed at which we can change and update maps to suit the news items makes this a valuable tool.”
Hansen added that the after-sales support TV2 has received from Curious Software and its local distributor Danmon has been second to none.
“Curious Software’s technical staff are very responsive and have been happy to change and tweak the software to incorporate our suggestions,” he said. “Curious World Maps is undoubtedly the best software on the market when it comes to creating good map-artwork.”
TV2 began broadcasting in 1988 and was Denmark’s first commercial television. It has established itself as a more youth-oriented channel (compared to the also government-owned Danish Broadcast Corporation) with several American sit-coms. It has a daughter-station - TV 2 Zulu – and a number of regional channels.
