Hawk-Woods Introduce New Hot Swap Adaptors

After a number of custom product requests from rental houses for a multi-voltage hot swap feature, Hawk-Woods have recently extended their popular range of 15mm bar adaptor plates.

The current range is well known for having a variety of outputs including D-Taps and Lemo connectors with the flagship model also providing 24v RS outputs. Hawk-Woods currently manufacture these in V-Mount, Gold Mount and their exclusive 26v Reel Power fitting.

Being mostly used to power ARRI film cameras like the Mini and the Alexa, users were enquiring about the possibility of adding a hot swap function allowing block batteries to be connected to the adaptor whilst an on-board battery is in use, allowing constant power to be fed to the camera.

Hawk-Woods took the feedback on board and their head engineer Clive Hawkins designed the DC input to fit perfectly to the original 15mm adaptors.

Initial testing from users at Pinewood Studios proved well and it was apparent to Hawk-Woods this would be a useful adaptor for many using film cameras in the industry.

The 15mm hot swap adaptors are now available in all 3 styles, V-Mount, Gold Mount, Reel Power and all adaptors accept DC Inputs of 14v and 24v. There is a choice of DC Input connector either XLR 3-pin or Lemo 8-pin.
