Owen Jones To Give RTS Lecture

Writer and journalist Owen Jones is to give this year's Royal Television Society (RTS) Huw Wheldon Memorial Lecture.
The Lecture, entitled 'Totally Shameless: How TV Portrays the Working Class' will take place at BBC Scotland's headquarters on Pacific Quay in Glasgow on Wednesday 6 November.
Owen Jones is a writer, broadcaster and columnist for The Independent.
He is also a regular contributor to Question Time, Newsnight and other political programmes. His first book, Chavs: The Demonization of the Working Class was published in June 2011 and he is currently working on his second about the British Establishment.
He was born in Sheffield, grew up in Stockport and now resides in London.
The RTS Huw Wheldon Lecture will be recorded for broadcast on BBC Four later in November.
