Network Electronics help deliver coverage in St. Petersburg

The Russian City of St. Petersburg's preparations for its 300th Anniversary include the restoration of its lavish architecture, an elaborate cultural program and a significant complement of Network Electronics equipment to deliver the festivities to viewers.
Metrocom, a telecommunication services provider located in St. Petersburg, has purchased a substantial amount of Network Electronics' flashlink and ConQuer products to transmit the events to Russian television broadcasters for distribution. flashlink is an innovative fibre optic transport system. ConQuer is a range of signal processing products.
Metrocom awarded the contract for the equipment to Network Electronics' Russian partner, I.S.P.A. Engineering following an intense evaluation of numerous manufacturers. Network said that flashlink and ConQuer's quality and cost-effective pricing structure were “pivotal factors” in the decision process as was Network Electronics' ability to withstand the strict Russian certification process.
Members of the Russian government as well as international heads of state and government leaders will attend the St. Petersburg’s tercentenary celebrations and the equipment will be also be used for international broadcasting of the upcoming G8 Summit. Due to take place in Evian-les-Bains, France, from June 1-3, 2003, both President Vladimir Putin and President George W. Bush, are expected to attend.
The G8 Summit is a major event since 1975, when the heads of state and government of leading industrialized countries meet informally to enhance their friendship, discuss issues relating to globalisation, and devise responses to the major international economic and political issues.
In addition to flashlink and ConQuer, Network Electronics manufacturers the VikinX compact router range.
