Harris to provide second Automation System for TVE
Spanish national broadcaster TVE is to extend its operations with eight additional terrestrial and satellite channels, and has ordered a second ADC-100 system from Harris Automation Solutions.
Harris say that the architecture of the new system is based on two redundant pairs of device servers that will be linked to the existing network. The first server will be nominally dedicated to acquisition, caching from four Sony LMS robot cartridge libraries into the central Seachange server network using Harris's Global Media Transfer asset management software.
The second server will be used for broadcasts via Miranda Presmaster mixers and a Thomson Venus routing switcher. The LMS robots can broadcast direct to air if required, however, and a single Aston Motto character generator is available as a shared resource.
The intention is that these channels should operate largely automatically: two Air Client output controllers are provided for the eight channels. Any of these Air Clients can be used in conjunction with any of the device servers and thus any attached equipment.
This is the second repeat sale for the ADC-100 in 2002. RTR channel Kultura in Moscow also returned to Harris for a second system, underlining the system¹s inherent reliability and ease of integration into the practical broadcasting environment.
Harris Broadcast Communications is one of five divisions within Harris Corporation.
One of the world's leading broadcast suppliers, Harris offers a full range of solutions that support the digital delivery, automation and management of audio, video and data. Harris serves broadcasters in more than 125 countries.
Harris Corporation, which also provides microwave, network support, tactical radio, and government communications systems and products, has sales and service facilities in more than 90 countries.
