Incite Editor fits the bill for French Parliament

The French Parliament TV channel, LCP-AN, has chosen Incite Editor, the leading non-linear editing software for broadcasting and post, to edit its news programming.
With its ability to operate in completely digital networking environments, Incite Editor is rapidly becoming the first choice end-to-end solution for non-linear editing, not only for broadcast stations and post-production studios, but also for national organizations and institutions, such as the French Parliament.
LCP-AN, the TV channel of the important French institution, began live coverage of the parliamentary sessions two years ago. When they needed the most advanced solution to edit and finish their programs, they installed four Incite Editor stations. The Incite Editor stations were immediately key actors in the success of the channel's news programming, especially for its most important news program: "L'Edition".
"Our daily schedule is demanding and needs all the help we can get from our editing systems", said Jean Pierre Lançon, LCP-AN's Technical Director, "Thanks to its video and audio editing power, Incite Editor Studio has been a decisive advantage!"
LCP-AN uses Incite Editor Studio, an advanced version of Incite's Editor product family designed for demanding environments with mission-critical deadlines. Editor Studio not only features fast and intuitive tools for cutting video and creating real-time effects, it also offers advanced network capabilities and superior audio tools for rapid on-line production: up to 64 real-time audio tracks, real-time audio effects, multiple monitor controls and hot-mixing support for motorized faders. But, most importantly for LCP-AN's production model, is Editor Studio's ability to record full duplex voice-overs direct to the timeline, letting their editors and journalists synchronize, insert and finish reports and commentary faster than ever before.
Part of LCP-AN's decision was also based on Incite Editor's ability to edit on a SAN network. Because of spacing constraints in the design of the historic parliament building, LCP-AN's editing studios are physically separated. But the SAN network connects all the Incite Editor workstations together, providing centralized storage for simultaneously sharing and editing media, as well as permitting task division for faster project finishing, delivery and archiving. The Editor workstations and the SAN were also designed to enable the producers to work with native DV from start to finish, going completely digital for easier file management and eliminating the need for unnecessary format conversions.
