The Mill post BAFTA winning short film
The Mill have worked with writer/director Chris Morris on his short film 'My Wrongs 8245-8249 and 117', which picked up the award for Best Short Film at the BAFTA award ceremony.
The film was adapted from a monologue in Morris's 'Blue Jam' radio series and tells the story of a man who no longer uses his name because he's decided he's ceased to deserve one, and a dog called Rothko who says he is the man's lawyer. As reality bleeds into hallucination, Rothko decides to take the man for a walk.
My Wrongs was shot on HD and then posted in one of The Mill's HD flame suites. Effects created by the Mill's flame team included the sequence where the dog gets knocked over. They used separate passes of the dog and the car and layered them so that it appeared that the car actually hits the dog.
The team also composited3D elements into the film, working to enhance them so that they sat seamlessly into the shots. The 3D was created in Sheffield and sent to The Mill via digital delivery service BEAM.TV, for daily approval from director Morris. Additional work also included creating the film's title sequence.
Mill telecine artist Paul Harrison graded the short film, which was produced by Warp Films.
